Janice Druian, award winning, Central Oregon oil painter is best known for her stunning landscapes that capture the beauty of the isolated parts of Oregon, Arizona,  Idaho, Wyoming, California and other western locations. Read her artist statement here. 

"Ars est longa; vita brevis" •"Art is long; life is brief"

With this famous Latin phrase in mind, my goal is to spend as much time painting as possible. I have the privilege of living in the High Desert of Central Oregon.  From my windows I look down upon the wild and scenic Deschutes River.  Our panoramic view includes the Cascade Mountains to the west, and the Ochoco Mountains to the east. My inspiration and artistic spirit is influenced by the great painters of the last century: Edgar Payne, Guy Rose, William Wendt and Maynard Dixon. Surrounded by vast horizons, tumultuous skies and soul replenishing solitude of the remote west allows me to paint and fuels my enthusiasm for painting. I have painted with some of the best contemporary plein air and landscape artists, including John Poon, Richard McKinley, Ken Auster, Morgan Samuel Price, Bob Rohm, and my mentor and personal friend, Jean LeGassick. My formal art school background was a masters program at the University of Oregon, where I studied with Frank Okada and Laverne Krause. My goal is to honor the beauty of the West through painting.

Randall Tillery is a nationally and regionally recognized artist whose ability to capture the emotionally charged beauty of the scenes he paints has not gone unnoticed and we are delighted to share them with you. Read his artist statement below:

My goal in art is, and always has been, to paint what inspires me. What has inspired me from as far back as I can remember is the unspoiled beauty in this world. The natural awe-inspiring beauty that existed long before we were here, and will exist long after we’re gone. I’ve always felt that if you stay true to yourself as an artist it will come across in your art and result in works that naturally resonate with others. Art speaks not only of the subject, but of the artist who created it; through the use of line, form, shapes, creativity, expressive brushwork and paint application one can get a certain sense of the artist. It is my hope that people will feel that connection when viewing my art. As I’ve always thought...what is life without art, or art without life?
