 MEET THE MAKER

July 26, 2018

The Clearwater Gallery and The Open Door believe that art, food, and wine are best shared in good company. In honor of this, we will be bringing our favorite things together for this summer’s inaugural Meet the Maker dinner on Thursday July 26, 2018.  This will be a special evening with impressionist artist, Garth Williams, at The Open Door Courtyard. We will be pairing Garth's dynamic paintings with a carefully crafted menu, hand-selected wines, and live demonstrations by the artist.

Garth Williams' distinctive palette-knife strokes, thick layers, and vibrant colors capture the spirit of the wild Northwest. His oil paintings of mountain landscapes, winding streams, lakeside moments, and backyard scenes invite viewers to re-imagine familiar places.

Julia has created a beautiful menu capturing the vision and character of Garth Williams. Drawing from both his favorites and her own family recipes, Julia has created a fresh take on classic, backyard, summer dinners. This five-course menu highlights seasonal offerings from local growers and ranchers with wine pairings you can enjoy all summer long.

To make reservations for this event, please call The Open Door 541. 549. 6076 or email Emily at emily@opendoorwinebar.com

I was fortunate to be born in the big sky country of Helena, Montana. I grew up acquiring a great love of the outdoors. I remember my dad packing me across a trout stream on his back so we could get to the next hole. The best time to fish was always in the fall when the streams were low and clear and the autumn colors were always spectacular. Each time I paint fall aspens, many special memories come to mind.
